Abstract :
Puspitasari, Diah Fitri. 15420097. 2019. Moral Values in Maze Runner: The Death Cure movie by Wes Ball and its contribution to Character Building Teaching. Final Project, English Study Program, Faculty of Language and Arts Education, University of PGRI Semarang. Advisor I: Dr. Nur Hidayat M.Hum., Advisor II: Indri Kustantinah,S.S., M.Hum. This final project is based on the research which attempts to analyze the moral value of Maze Runner: Death Cure movie. The objective of the study are, (1) to find out the moral value on Maze Runner: The Death Cure movie, (2) to find out the contribution of the moral value to the character-building teaching. The result of data finding on the first objective of the study is there five kinds are founds of moral values in each aspect namely (1) Bravery, (2) Sincerity, (3) Trustworthiness, (4) Sympathetic to others, (5) Thanksfulness, Love and Affection. The data finding about the contribution of the moral value in this research are; (1) Trustworthy, the teacher can show the students that Thomas and his friends in this movies are trusting each other.(2) Fairness, the teacher also can portray how people must be open-minded to make a living fair. (3) Caring, The students can reflect and build their character into a caring person. (4) Respect, The teacher can show in moral value on friendship, and share communication about how the character in the movie respect each other and turn into a good result. (5) Citizenship, the students are able to reflect to build strong citizenship. (6) Responsible, This is reflected on the finding of moral value on leadership. The leadership represent their responsibility. In conclusion, the researcher suggest that the students should be able to realize that everything have their own value which the researcher explain above. Whenever they watch a movie, read a book, or listen to music, they also learn the moral value in each aspect. Thus, students are able to reflect themselves if they want to build their character building. Keywords: moral value, maze runner: death cure value, character building
