Forma Sita . 2021. ABSTRACT The use of mind mapping to improve narrative writing skill at English Department Language and Science Faculty University of Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya. Advisor : 1.Dra.Bekti Wirawati, M.Pd : 2. Drs.H.Heru Wibowo ,M.Pd Key Word: Improving, Writing skill, narrative Text, mind mapping method. This study aims to improve students' narrative writing skill using mind mapping method in class VIII MTs Raden Rahmat Surabaya. The subjects of this study was 27 students. This study used Classroom Action Research Design (CAR).The researcher collaborated with the English teacher of MTs Raden Rahmat Surabaya. The result of the students scores at the conclusion was 25% of students passed in pre cycle (or 6 out of 27 students).In cycle 1 37,03 passed the test(or 10 out of 27 students).In cycle 2 students who passed was 77% (or 21 out of 27 students).These results showed that the use of mind mapping can inprove narrative writing skill at eight graders in MTs Raden Rahmat Surabaya.
