Abstract :
The research was purposed to find out effectiveness of the addition of Turmeric powder and Tamarind (Curcuma domestica Val. ? Tamarindus indica L.) in the commercial feed on Low Density Liporotein (LDL) and High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) level male quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica). Experimental animals used were male quail 24 tails. Design used was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and replications of 6. The four treatments were P0 was a control without Turmeric powder and Tamarind, P1 (90% commercial feed + 10% Turmeric powder and Tamarind), P2 (80% commercial feed + 20% Turmeric powder and Tamarind), P3 (70% commercial feed + 30% Turmeric powder and Tamarind). Turmeric powder and Tamarind applied for 28 days. Blood checked LDL and HDL level in laboratory. The data obtained were analyzed by using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) test. The average LDL level of the male quail each treatment group that is P0 (100.7000 ± 27.52243), P1 (100.3000 ± 19.23861), P2 (97.4333 ± 36.26865), P3 (94.8333 ± 16.44940) which statistically show the difference was not significant (P>0.05), while the average HDL level of the male quail each treatmennt group that is P0 (64.5000 ± 8.11788), P1(66.5000 ± 3.88587), P2 (67.0000 ± 4.00000) P3 (66.3333 ± 4.80278) which statistically show the difference was not significant (P>0.05).
