Key Words: Descriptive Text, Blogging Media, Classroom Action Research Writing is one of the language skills that must be taught in addition to other skills. Based on the SMK curriculum recommended by the government, there are several texts that must be mastered by students in SMK. One of these texts is descriptive text. Descriptive text is a text that describes something, someone, situation, etc. or writes about the way people, places, or things appear. In studying descriptive text, students may have difficulty in learning it. Students may be confused what to write even though they know the topic that has been given by the teacher. Therefore, in this study researchers will try to apply Blogging Media. This media is expected to be able to overcome the problems that occur in the field. This research aims to determine whether teaching writing descriptive text using Blogging Media is effective to improve students' writing skills, to collect students' perceptions and impressions of the direct learning process, and to collect progressive results from student participation in writing learning. descriptive text for grade 1 students of SMK Kawung 2 Surabaya. The subjects in this study were students of class X AKL 1 SMK Kawung 2 Surabaya. Based on the results of the study, the application of learning descriptive text writing skills using blogging media has increased. At the end of the second cycle, the test results showed that there were 24 students (82%) who passed the KKM out of a total of 29 students. An increase of 14% from the posttest cycle I. In addition, student responses to learning are generally positive. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the application of using Blogging Media can improve the writing skills of class X AKL 1 SMK Kawung 2 Surabaya students.
