Abstract :
The objective of the research is to describe the process of The Implementation of The Listing Technique in Writing Learning of recount text to Eighth-Grade A- Students of SMP Negeri 21 Surabaya. The research uses Classroom Action Research (CAR). The researcher uses Observation sheets and Writing tests. The finding discovers that the implementation of the listing technique in writing learning of recount text began with pre-activity, the teacher entered and greeted the class, asked the students about recount text, and explained the material that will be discussed. Next is the main activity, there are many activities done by the students, such as making a sort of list or ideas using the listing technique, choosing a topic, questioning, getting an explanation, and doing the assignment that makes a short paragraph of recount text based on students topic. The last is the post activity, the students collected the writing assignment into one, and the teacher gave a conclusion for the material that day and closed the class. Based on the result of the observation that the researcher has analyzed, the writing skills of recount text among the Eighth-grade A-Students of SMP Negeri 21 Surabaya have been improved by using the listing technique.
