This research is Classroom Action Research. The purpose of this study is using drama to improve the students' speaking skill in the eleventh grade in SMA Negeri 12 Surabaya. Subjects in this study were 32 students of class XI IPA 5 in SMA Negeri 12 Surabaya. In collecting data and data collection instruments, the researcher uses test and observation.
In addition, the researcher conducted two cycles for class XI IPA 5 and found satisfactory results that the application of drama in English language class can improve students' speaking skills, especially on the fluency of their English speaking. This can be seen from the calculation of the percentage score of student?s speaking skill before the pre-cycle is 59,38%. Then, the percentage score of students? speaking skill in the first cycle is 78,13% and in the second cycle is 84,38%.
