Abstract :
This study want to analysis the efficacy of ketapang leaf as the bioactive compound against protozoan infestation (Ichtyophtirius multifiliis) on the oranda cap fish (Carassius auratus auratus). A total of 25oranda cap fish were infected using Ichtyophtirius multifiliis and were divided into 5 groups. Group P0 as a control, P1 treated with methylene blue, P2 with 30% ketapang leaf infusion, P3 with 40% and P4 with 50% concentration. The gross lesion and mortality data were collected on day 3 and 7 during the treatment. The data were then analysed using non-parametric test, probability value of 5% (0,05). These study reflected that fish in the group P0 and P1 showed both of high mortality and severe gross lesion if it is compared to the treatment group (P2, P3, and P4) (P < 0,05). In conclusion, the ketapang leaf infusion could be utilised as the alternative therapy against Ich infection.
