Abstract :
Sago , an endemic plant of Indonesia, is potential for bio-ethanol base material.
Bioethanol can be producted from sago core, Research-based ethanol manufacturing sago
implemented using two types of enzymes, namely-amylase and glucoamylase and raw materials
such as starch, pith and fiber at the laboratory scale. The purpose of this study was to determine
the amount of content levels of ethanol produced from sago waste. The procedure of this study
consists of the hydrolysis of the material with the addition of the enzyme alpha amylase,
saccharification process with the addition of glucoamylase enzymes, fermentation by adding
yeast and lasted for 5 days with heavy use of sago waste is 1 kg, 2 kg and 3 kg which is a
variable Variables in this study. The results showed that on a laboratory scale using 100 gr
enzyme alpha amylase, an enzyme glucoamylase 100 gr and 100 gr yeast produces ethanol levels
at least as high as 1.110% for sago starch by weight of 1 kg.
