Abstract :
This study aims to determine how the communication patterns of mothers in children with
cerebral palsy at the School of Extraordinary People With Disabilities Surabaya. In this study the authors
used by interpersonal communication theory, communication is the process of sending messages from the
communicator to the communicant with the effects or the direct feedback. This study used a qualitative
descriptive method, where data is obtained based on personal experience sources. Data are presented in
detail and depth to understand the communication patterns that occur.
The results of this study concluded that the dominant patterns of communication that occurs in
the relationship between mother and child with cerebral palsy it is authoritative communication patterns,
ie patterns of democratic communication. That is, the mother receives the child's condition is and tried
every way in facilitating the development of the child to control balance and not hurt the child
