Abstract :
The study was based on the phenomenon of fuel price increase by the government that its impact is felt by ordinary people, which is then poured into a drawing caricatures in the Jawa Post newspaper edition on March 3, 2012 by a caricaturist. The interpretation refers to the triangle theory put forward by Charles Sanders Peirce, the signs appearing in the caricature can be interpret according to its function. Peirce categorized signs in icons, index, and symbols. This research used a qualitative descriptive method by using Peirce's semiotic analysis to discover the meaning contained in the Clekit caricature at Jawa Pos newspaper. Data obtained in the research object by looking directly at the Clekit caricature of Jawa Pos newspaper edition on March 3, 2012 about fuel price increase which are interpreted using the theory of Peirce.
