Abstract :
The mass media is one means to meet human needs for information. The information presented is a mass media event or events that occur in life, to the impressions of violence, sadism, violent movies, horror movies to show criminality can be witnessed. Violence that display aims to highlight the horrors in order to evoke emotions viewers and readers. Television program that presents a variety of information that is happening is a newsprogram. One of them is presenting the show SCTV Liputan 6 SCTV. The purpose of this study was to determine how public attitudes about the show of force at Surabaya news programs Liputan 6 on SCTV. Attitude was measured by using indicators of cognitive attitude, affective and conative. Population in the research community here is a minimum of Surabaya and 15 year old, who watched programs Liputan 6 Siang on SCTV. Sampling technique using a multistage cluster random sampling, with a frequency table analysis method to describe the data obtained from interviews based on questionnaires completed by respondents. Of research has been done obtained results indicate that the overall attitude of therespondent are kogniti attitude, affective attitude and the kognatif attitude is positive. This shows that the attitude of respondents to show that there is violence in Liputan 6 siang
