Abstract :
Social criticism and the media, are two different things but can not be separated and interconnected. The mass media are widely used by political actors asa a ?vehicle? to gain public sympathy. Caricature is an art that it contains the intention to be funny, entertaining, too satirical and critical. Caricatures we often encounter in papers that address sosial issues, politics and economics that exist in society and government. Caricature in a sentence that characterizes Benny always make the reader laugh as ifthey laugh at themselves. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine whatthemes are presented in caricature book ?100 Events that can Overwrite Your? work of Benny Rachmadi. Theory used in this study is content analysis, book caricature as the mass media, social criticism, social categorization in the book ?100 Events that can Overwrite Your? work of Benny Rachmadi. This study uses content analysis of the social themes of the research done by analyzing the caricature drawings and sentences that contain a social perspective, which contained the caricature book ?100 Events that can overwrite your? work of Benny Rachmadi. Which has been incorporated into the coding sheet first. Taking the sample using systematic sampling. Data collection techniques using the technique of recording data based on a predetermined theme categorization and analysis of data using frequency tables. The results of this study is the printed book in May 2011, the most frequent themes the theme of Human Interst and ethics. This study concluded that the theme that most appointed the caricature book ?100 Events that can overwrite your? work of Benny Rachmadi is the theme of Human Interest and ethnics.it shows that many things about human interest and ethics such as the activities and unexpected behavior.
