Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to determine how meaning is communicated caricature Rubric Compass Newspaper Opinion on the issue Wednesday, August 3, 2011. The theory used is the semiotics of Charles Sanders Peirce who proposed split between sign and referent into categories: icon, index, symbol is a sign that the relationship between the marker and the marker is the same natural shape. Frame of mind which is used in this study based on Frame of Reference (based on knowledge) and the Field of Experience (backfield). Semiotic methods in qualitative research is descriptive, ie a method that is easier to adjust when it is in fact double this study, presents a direct relationship between the researcher with the object of researchers, more sensitive and can adjust to the many influences on the pattern - the pattern of values encountered. Techniques of data analysis in this research is descriptive method, the data collected in the form of words - words and pictures. The results obtained from the interpretation of caricature is the public attitude toward a controversial statement made in a karikatur.Hal caricaturists can be seen from the index are shown which illustrates that the people full of doubt and question marks against the government in handling corruption cases.The conclusion is a caricaturist wanted the government to be firm in KPK's performance in overseeing eradicate corruption. But however to date, the Commission still remains a necessary institution in the eradication of corruption, if indeed some komisionernya involved moral turpitude and violating the law, should take strict action against the concerned, the Commission should not arbitrarily disbanded immediately.
