Abstract :
Composting is a way of treating organic waste biologically, using microbial activity to convert organic waste into material with soil characteristic. Filter cake from sugar factory has carbon, nitrogen, phosphate, calium and the other minerals that can be use for soil recovery for example high water holding capacity. The goal of research is to use organic waste for green manure. The waste from sugar factory is filtercake that mix with rubbish. This research use aerobic system, with variant of filter cake add are 1 kg, 2 kg, 3 kg and 4 kg. Use aeration method without aerator and with aerator use variant of dosis are 1,8; 2,7 and 3,6 l/min/kgVs. Rubbish with 3 kg weight without filter cake add as control. The result of the research is 4 kg filter cake add each 3 kg rubbish stimulation decrease of C/N ratio 19,2. Aeration method that effective for composting is use aerator. The microbial growth influence decrease of C/N ratio during composting with 84 % decrease.
