Abstract :
Technology development has spread among the public, including to the children. Currently, there are many children who have and can operate gadgets smartly. Gadgets can provide positive and negative impacts for the children. Therefore, it is necessary for the parents to provide the direction to the child in order not to be affected by negative impacts of the gadget using with the effective communication patterns. Communication patterns that needed to analyze is how about description of the communication that occurs between parents and elementary school children as the active gadget users. The method that used in this research is descriptive qualitative, accompanied by in-depth interviews to collect the necessary data for the research. The results of this research are obtained through analysis from recapitulation of in-depth interviews with each informant. It is indicated that every parents indeed has their own ways in educating their children especially in playing the gadget. It is obtained from 3 informants, 2 informants be permissive (be free), and 1 informant be authoritative that tends to democratic with their children.
