Abstract :
This study are based on the phenomenon of women's struggles in defending his right as a citizen of Indonesia, especially in the legislature. Culture of patriarchy that still exist after the reforms until now. women are always viewed as weak and unable to lead an organization, were disappointed by the men - men in positions in government. In law - election law number 7 of 2013 says that any political party should elections are at least 30% women candidates in each electoral district. but this does not have the effect that the government signifikandidalam, men - men always be the majority who sit in the legislature. quota of 30% is not going well in the last three years the holding of elections, the election terpilith 1999hanya 45 women who became members of the House as much as 9%. in the 2004 election, the number of women who terpilith of 62 people or 11.3%. then the 2009 election, the number of women increased by 102 or 18%. This study aims to determine the knowledge tigkat women Surabaya on the representation of women in legislative news in the mass media. Method used is descriptive quantitative. This method uses the theory of S - O - R with female respondents Surabaya. Surabaya so widely it is used cluster random sampling to determine the study sample. This research in data collection using a questionnaire which was answered by the respondents. analysis of the data obtained will be easier for her to read. with 100 female respondents conducted research in order to know the level of knowledge about women's news women's representation in the legislature.
