Abstract :
Today, the hand-washing behavior is very important for health, especially in children who were sitting in the school. By looking at the Lifebuoy soap commercials on the television, the researcher attempted to analyze the extent to which the exposure of Lifebuoy soap advertising influences the behavior of handwashing in the elementary
school children.
This study used a quantitative approach. S.O.R Theory and Cultivation Theory were as the theoretical bases for this research. The numbers of samples in this research were 100 elementary school children with the withdrawal technique
of Proportional sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires. The analytical method used was a simple regression analysis and tested by t test.
Hypothesis test results showed that the Advertising Exposure with the Frequency and Duration dimensions had the significant effects on the HandWashing Behavior of elementary school children. This was proven by the t value 9,741 and more value t 1,661 , thus the hypothesis was accepted, which meant that the dimension of Ad Exposure had the significant effect on Hand-tabel Washing Behavior of the elementary school children.
