Abstract :
The high level of competition in the industry, requires companies to be able to compete well and ready with all the risks that will be faced. One insurance company that must be met to the customer is shipping the product according to customer demand in a timely and efisien. So distribution process does not result in waste in terms of time, distance, energy and transportation costs are high. Berkah Nalami companies, Ponorogo is a company engaged in the cigarette industry. PR distribution targets. Berkah Nalami Ponorogo is able to precisely time product delivery, cost efficient, and good service. While the delivery of cigarettes to some areas of the lack of marketing planning and delivery of the exact distribution of items resulting in delivery path taken longer and result in a high cost of transportation. With the problems we used methods Savings Matrix that can be used to determine the distribution of clove cigarettes to the custoer by way of determining the order of the distribution channels that must be passed by vehicles and the numbers of carriers based on the capacity of the conyeyance. This method applied order to obtain the shorthest path distribution and obtain transportation cost Saving after improvements by using the Savings matrix. The results obtained with the method of Saving Matrix distribution channels to 7 customer cigarette is in East Java with 3 new distribution channels ie Line A of the Warehouse distribution - Trenggalek - TulungAgung ? Nganjuk - Warehouse with the shortest distance of 174.57 miles, point distribution Warehouse-B from Madiun - Ngawi - Magetan - Warehouse with the shortest distance of 114.76 km and Line C of the Warehouse distribution - Pacitan - Warehouse with the shortest distance of 116.34 miles. Resulting in savings of the total mileage of 536.62 miles - 405.67 km = 130.95 km or 24.40% per month. And after using the Saving Matrix transportation improvements gained from Rp. 11,000,916, - / month to Rp. 6,765,206, - / month in order to get a savings of Rp. 4,235,710, - / month or 38.50% per month.
