The purpose of this paper is to find the causes of woman submission and sadomasochism that occur in the main female character and the effects caused by the problem based on the feminism theory. To analyze the problem, the researcher applied qualitative method and applies feminist theory of Catharine MacKinnon (1988) in her book entitled Pornography and Civil Rights: A New Day for Women?s Equality. The data were collected by reading the movie script comprehensively and took some notes on important citations that relate to the topic. After analyzing the data, it can be concluded that the main female character in Kelly Marcel?s Fifty Shades of Grey accepted woman submission and sadomasochism because of the main female character?s thought that women as slaves, must feel pain, men have a higher position and love. There is relation between woman submission and sadomasochism.
