The theory applied belongs to Camilla Jones (2000) which states ?personal mediate racism is defined as prejudice and discrimination, where prejudice means differential assumptions about the abilities, motives, and intentions of others according to their race, and discrimination means differential actions towards others according to their race. Personally mediated racism can be intentional as well as unintentional, and it includes acts of commission as well as acts of omission. It manifests as lack of respect suspicion, devaluation, scapegoating and dehumanization.? The result of this study showed that the cause of racism experienced by main character is his status of being an American with black skin among Chinese, the local prejudice from Chinese people, and the revengeful personalities. While the actions of racism experienced by main character are verbal abuse, negative judgments from local people, and bullying actions from his fellow students. Last, the effects of racism actions experienced by main character are emotional outbreak, separation with friend, inner fear, and violence in competition experienced by main character.
