Abstract :
Overview - Sumba Islands have a lot of tourism destinations that attracts tourists? interest. Tourism objects available in Sumba islands i.e. beach tourism objects, cultural and art tourism and other natural tourism objects. However, that places are in the remote area and transportation facilities heading for the tourism destination has not supported so that the tourists do not know and they are not be able to achieve the tourism destinations. Therefore, there should be facilities to introduce them to the visiting tourists. A tourism information centre is located in South west Sumba Regency due to the location is very strategic i.e. close to port and airport. Issues Today, there is still no facility such as a tourism information centre to introduce tourism destinations available in Sumba islands. Sumba islands have more than 15 white-sand beaches that can be tourism destinations. The more increase the tourists, the more community economic growth. The community can sell their handicraft products that are their subsistence in some villages in South West Sumba. The tourism information centre located close to port and airport becomes a strategic place. The tourists can obtain information easily and they know tourism objects? situations and locations they are visiting. Goals- To plan a tourism information centre that can deliver information to the tourists visiting Sumba Islands both via air as well as via sea. The buildings? locations which follows village building layouts and building designs which follow Sumba traditional buildings will deliver a traditional impression and the tourists can recognize Sumba cultures before visiting the tourism destinations.
