Abstract :
Staying up late was the person conditions that did not sleep at late night.
Staying up late is estimated causing the disruption of circadian rhytm which can
lead to health problems and demage liver function because it causes an imbalance
between the generation of free radicals and body antioxidants, which generated by
disruption of the circadian cycle. This increase in free radicals induces lipid
peroxidation in cell membranes, which disrubtion cell?s abiltiy to transport
chemchals which they need (cell membran permeability), resylting in cell damage.
The damaging of cells which contained transminase enzymes due to change in
cell membrane permeability caused macromolecules could be penetrate and be
released into the extracellular fluid. This caused SGPT came out from the
bloodstream so that the amount increased within normal limits. This research
purposed to know the level of SGPT in students who stayed up late in SMK
Kesehatan Bakti Indonesia Medika Ponorogo.
This research design was descriptive. The sample in this research was
students who stayed up late in SMK Kesehatan Bakti Indonesia Medika Ponorogo
with 30 samples. This sample took by used random sampling technique. The level
of SGPT was measured with a photometer at a wavelength of 340 nm in units of
U/L. The result is analyzed and showed in descriptive tables.
According to the result, it was known that from 30 respondents, 13
respondents had high SGPT levels and 17 respondents had normal SGPT levels.
The average value of SGPT levels from 30 respondents was 29,50 U/L with a
range of levels has reached 11-69 U/L.
The conclusion of this research was most of the students stayed up late in
SMK Kesehatan Bakti Indonesia Medika Ponorogo had prevalence high level of
SGPT, it was 43.3%.
