Abstract :
Ophthalmic preparations are sterile preparations in the form of solutions or ointments used for the treatment of eye disorders. It is important for patients to know how to use and store ophthalmic drugs, because lack of knowledge in the proper use and storage of ophthalmic drugs can worsen eye disease. The purpose of this study was to describe the patient's knowledge in the practice of using sterile ophthalmic preparations aseptically at the Solo Eye Hospital. The design of this research is descriptive quantitative. Data were obtained from distributing questionnaires to eye polyclinic patients at Solo Eye Hospital in January 2022. sampling used was purposive sampling. The sample used was 360 respondents who met the inclusion criteria. The results of the study regarding the level of knowledge of respondents in the use of sterile ophthalmic preparations aseptically recorded 16.11% of respondents had less knowledge, 21.39% had sufficient knowledge, and 62.50% of patients had good knowledge. This shows that the level of knowledge of Solo Eye Hospital patients regarding the practice of using sterile ophthalmic preparations aseptically is in the good category.
