Abstract :
The growth of population a country's that is accompanied with the increase of the labor has caused its own problems. This is partly due to the non-functioning of all sectors in public life and not the development in all fields, so that job availability is not balanced with the rate of population with growth rapidly and dynamically. Analysis of the data used for this study is using multiple linear regression anlysis method. Testing hypotheses using partial test (t test), simultaneous test (F test) and test the coefficient of determination (R). Classical Assumption Test with normality test, test Multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity and autocorrelation. Based on the results of data processing, it can be seen that the regression model there is no irregularity in the classical assumption test. From the test results F explained that the number of business units (X1), investments (X2), and the production value (X3) positive and significant impact on employment in the city of Padang on a 95% confidence level. Pertumbuhan penduduk suatu negara yang diiringi dengan pertambahan angkatan kerja telah menimbulkan permasalahan tersendiri. Hal ini antara lain disebabkan belum berfungsinya semua sektor kehidupan masyarakat dengan baik serta belum meratanya pembangunan disegala bidang sehingga ketersediaan lapangan pekerjaan tidak seimbang dengan laju pertumbuhan penduduk yang cepat dan dinamis. Analisis data yang digunakan untuk penelitian ini mengunakan metode analisis regresi linear berganda . Uji hipotesis mengunakan pengujian secara parsial ( Uji t), uji simultan (Uji F) dan Uji koefisien Determinasi (R). Uji Asumsi Klasik dengan Uji normalitas, Uji Multikolinearitas , heteroskedastisitas dan Autokorelasi. Berdasarkan hasil olah data, dapat diketahui bahwa model regresi tidak ada penyimpangan pada uji asumsi klasik. Dari hasil uji F menjelaskan bahwa jumlah unit usaha (X1), investasi (X2), dan nilai produksi (X3) berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap penyerapan tenaga kerja di Kota Padang pada tingkat kepercayaan 95%.
