Abstract :
Cosmetics containing hazardous substances should not be used by humans because they can damage the skin. BPOM's role is needed considering the distribution of dangerous cosmetics circulating among the people of Padang City. Formulation of the Problem: 1) How is the implementation of BPOM's supervision of the circulation of cosmetics containing dangerous substances? 2) What are BPOM's obstacles in supervising the distribution of cosmetics containing dangerous substances? 3) How do you overcome the obstacles experienced by BPOM in supervising the circulation of cosmetics containing hazardous substances? This type of research is sociological juridical. Interview data collection techniques and document studies. The results of the study are 1)BPOM carries out routine surveillance called cosmetic intensification which is carried out once a year. Together with several agencies such as the police, health service, trade service. 2) Obstacles experienced by BPOM are the lack of human resources, and there are several challenges in the field such as lack of public knowledge, and fraud from business actors. 3) efforts made by BPOM to overcome obstacles encountered by BPOM, namely by opening facilities for public complaints, outreach to the community and imposing sanctions on business actors.
