Abstract :
In this research, the writer tried to find out the translation techniques in the Scooby-Doo! Return to Zombie Island movie subtitle from English to Indonesian subtitle to find and to figure out the most translation technique used in the movie and to know the reason. The research used descriptive qualitative method. The data of this research are the sentences in movie subtitle both English and Indonesian The writer used Indonesian subtitle from the site called Subscene. The data were collected by watching the movie with both English and Indonesian subtitles, and categorized the collected data based on each translation techniques by Molina and Albir. The writer found out seven types of translation techniques in the movie subtitle. The most translation techniques used is borrowing (63), literal translation (50), amplification (21), calque (16), transposition (14), reduction (11), and adaptation (2).
