Abstract :
Women's language features are used to describe the distinctive language used attributed to female speakers. This research analyzes women?s language features used by female user on Tinder profile from June to July 2023. The focus of this research is to analyze the women?s language features used by female user on Tinder profile and analyze the function of the features by using theoretical approach by Lakoff (1975) and Holmes (2013). The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative method which included 50 women?s language features. The findings found that there were 6 lexical hedges or fillers, 1 tag question, 21 intensifiers, 22 emphatic stress used by female user on tinder profile. The function of the features are hedging devices and boosting devices. The hedging devices is used to reduce the force or strength of their statement. The boosting devices is used to boost, emphasize, and intensify the strength of their statement. The findings showed that emphatic stress is the most occurred because the female user emphasizing her statement on the profile to make the other user, when reading it, paid attention so her statement on describing herself is understood by the other user.
