Abstract :
Padang City experiences an increase in population every year. The increase in population is directly proportional to the increase in the number of landfills. Waste processing through biotechnology is one possible alternative taken to deal with waste problems. Processing waste using biotechnology requires facilities and infrastructure to produce results Biotechnology can be put to real use in society. Environmental Biotechnology Research Center will become a forum for developing biotechnology research activities in dealing with the accumulation of waste which continues to increase every year in Padang City. The research method used is qualitative, where this qualitative research is intended to understand the phenomena of the research subject by means of description. Ecological Architecture is applied in the formation of the concept of building mass against the condition of the site form. The Biotechnology Research Center is expected to be a place for the development of biotechnology research activities in overcoming the increasing piles of waste every year in Padang City.
