Abstract :
ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF DICTOGLOSS TECHNIQUE ON STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY ACHIEVEMENT AT THE SECOND GRADE IN SMP NEGERI 3 WATOPUTE SITI NURAETI (A1M2 15 127) This research was conducted to prove whether there is a significant effect of using dictogloss technique on students‟ vocabulary achievement at the second grade in SMP Negeri 3 Watopute or not. The design of the research was quasi-experimental design consisted of experimental and control class. The total population was 51 students which consisted of two classes. The sample of this research was class VIII.1 (as the control class) consisted of 27 students and class VIII.2 (as the experimental class) consisted of 24 students. The data of this research were collected by giving the students pre-test and post-test in the form of vocabulary test. Then, the data were analyzed by using SPSS 16.0 version by using descriptive analysis and inferential statistics and for testing the hypothesis of this research used independet sample t-test. The mean score of the post-test in experimental class is 70.37, while in control class is 44.53. To prove the hypothesis in this research, the value of Sig (2 tailed) is must lower than the significance α value (0.000 < 0.05). In this research, the value of Sig (2 tailed) is 0.000 while the significance α value is 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that the value of Sig (2 tailed) is lower than the significance α value (0.000 < 0.05). In other words, (H1) is accepted. It means that there is a significant effect of using Dictogloss technique on students‟ vocabulary achievement at the second grade in SMP Negeri 3 Watopute.
