Abstract :
The researcher identified that directive was the most dominant utilized by teachers and students in 130 utterances with the function of asking. Commisive was the least speech acts which expressed by teachers and students that showed in 4 utterances with the function of offering. Meanwhile, declaratives were not expressed at all by teachers and students. The researcher aJso found direct and indirect speech acts expressed by teachers and students as the way of speakers use speech acts. Direct speech act as the most dominant were uttered in 200 utterances while indirect speech act just performed in 18 utterances. The researcher concluded that teachers and students used direct speech acts in order to make them easy to understand and to prevent misunderstanding among them.
