Abstract :
The writer found there were three kinds of idiom and fifty one idioms were used by Stephanie Newton in her novel “Point Blank Protector”. They were Pure Idiom, such as, just in case, no wonder, shake off etc., Semi Idiom such as, find out, back off, make sure etc. and Literal Idiom such as, at first, knock on, turn off etc.. In addition, the writer also described the meaning of the idiom that used by the author in the novel. As conclusion, this thesis argues that Stephanie Newton used three kinds of idiom in her novel “Point Blank Protector” and this thesis also implicates to tell people how many kinds of idiom and to give understanding about the idiom, as a result, no more misunderstanding and conception about the idiom among the reader. Beside, this thesis can stimulate the students of English and Literature Department to learn more about idiomatic expression.
