Abstract :
This research revealed the Discourse Markers Used in Brad Bird's Movie "Tomorrow-Land" which aimed to find out the types and function of discourse marker. This research based on the theory of Biber et al who talked about the types and Schriffin 's theory who described the function of discourse markers. The researcher applied descriptive qualitative method in revealing the data. The researcher used note-talking as the instrument to get the valid data. The finding showed that the movie contained of ten types of discourse markers such as, interjection, greeting and farewell expression, linking adverbials, stance adverbials, vocatives, response elicitors, response forms, hesitator, Various polite Speech-Act Formulate and Expletives. That movie also contained of six function of discourse markers such as; information management, response, connectives, cause-result, temporal adverb and information participation. The researcher concluded that the dominant types on this movie was markers of linking adverbials and the dominant function was marker of response.
