Abstract :
This research aimed to find out the problems faced by the student-teachers in English Department of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji in preparing lesson plan for conducting teaching practices. This subject in this research was the seventh of seventh semester student-teachers of English Department. The object of this research was the lesson plan made by student-teachers. In data collection, the researcher used documentation and interview techniques. Then, all of the data that have been collected were analyzed in descriptive qualitative. The result of this research showed that there were five problems experienced by student-teachers in preparing a lesson plan, they are formulating indicator, time allocation, learning activities, student condition, and teaching-learning method. Based on the findings, the researcher concluded the crucial problems faced by the student-teachers in preparing lesson plan at Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji Tanjungpinang was formulating indicator because based on the results of studentteachers interview there were many problems they were difficult to sort out ?Kompetensi Dasar? as needed from syllabus, determine the indicator points are more affective, psychomotoric, or cognitive, and also afraid formulating indicator in general or specific one.
