Abstract :
This study was aimed at developing a syntax of task-based learning model for online English teaching at 11 th grade of MAN Tanjungpinang. The developed task-based learning model for online English teaching can be used to assist teachers and students in teaching and learning process during online environment. This study was research and development based on Borg and Gall (1983) model that has ten major steps, since this study aimed to develop the task-based learning model for online English teaching, this research only employed the former three cycles of R&D. They are Research and Information Collecting, Planning, and Developing Preliminary Form of Product. The data were collected through observation, questionnaire, and interview. The research instrument used in this study were taken from the teacher?s perception that collected from questionnaire and the interview session of the English teacher and students? need questionnaire. The result shows that the appropriate syntax of task-based learning model for online English teaching was needed to develop. It seems that there was no appropriate task-based learning model for online English teaching so the appropriate task-based learning model was developed. In this study, the appropriate syntax of task-based learning model was developed based on teacher?s perception and students? need analysis. WhatsApp, Google Meet, and Google Form has been considered as an appropriate application for online English teaching at 11th grade of MAN Tanjungpinang.
