Abstract :
The study aimed to find out the effect of mind mapping towards students
reading comprehension. The design of this research was Quasi-experimental
design with only one group of students at eleventh grade of SMAN 2
Tanjungpinang. The pre-test was administrated at the beginning of the class and
followed by giving the treatments. The post-test was also run at the end of the
class. The pre-test and post-test scores were analyzed by using SPSS version 20 to
find the mean score. Then, the paired sample t-test was run to answer the
hypothesis. The statistical analysis used on this research showed that the mind
mapping towards students reading comprehension was not really affect the
student?s reading performance, especially to be applied on students at
Tanjungpinang in this 2021. Thus, it answer the research hypothesis that the
implementation of mind mapping towards students reading comprehension
Tanjungpinang had no significant effect in improving student?s reading.
