Abstract :
The objective of this study was to know the effect of jumbled letters technique in
vocabulary mastery at sevent grade students of Mts Miftahul Ulum Tanjungpinang This
research was conducted at Mts Miftahul Ulum Tanjungpinang. The researcher applied a
quantitative method with Pre-One-Group Pre-Test-Post-Test Designs. This research took
one class which are taught by using Jumbled Letters Technique. The population of this
study were the students of seventh grade. There were 14 students in each class. It means
that the total number of population were 14 students. This number was taken as the sample
of this research by using the total sampling. This research was conducted by the following
procedure giving pre-test, conducted the treatment and giving a post -test. Then, the
research data were obtained by giving the test to the students in experimental groups. The
data were analyzed after getting the score of the test and processed by using SPSS version
25. The result of this research showed that the mean of the pre -test score in experimental
class was 69.50 and it increased in post-test into 95.86. This analysis indicated that of sig.2
tailed 0,008 < 0,05. therefore, Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. The result of this research
showed that there was a significant difference between the students taught before using
Jumbled Letters Technique and after using Jumbled Letters Technique. So, Jumbled Letters
Technique is effective to improve the students vocabulary mastery at seventh grade
students of MTS Miftahul Ulum Tanjungpinang academic year 2020/2021.
