Abstract :
The purpose of the research was to analyze the students? demonstrative pronouns at seventh grade of SMP Negeri 3 Tanjungpinang. The researcher applied descriptive qualitative approach as method for analyzing the data. The researcher collected the data through multiple choice test. Multiple choice test was use to find out how well do students using demonstrative pronouns. The test formulated with 25 items multiple choice was used to find out the students in using demonstrative pronouns, the sample of this research was the students at seventh grade of SMP Negeri 3 Tanjungpinang the academic year of 2018 ? 2019. The result of the research data showed that the ability of the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Tanjungpinang found difficult in using demonstrative pronouns, such as; this, that, these and those. The total of average score was 60.29 with the classified as weak. The highest score was 92 and the lowest score was 24. The researcher found the students? confused in using demonstrative pronouns like this, that, these, and those. The students did not know the difference between singular and plural in demonstraive pronouns. Therefore, the student have to improve their ability in using demonstrative pronouns.
