Abstract :
The main purpose of this study was to determine the language feature
errors made by students. The participants are the eleventh grade students of SMA
Negeri 1 Toapaya during the second semester of the 2020-2021 academic year.
The data of this research came from recount text written by 24 students. Errors are
classified into four types: omission, addition, misselection, and misordering. This
study intends to identify, classify, and calculate errors. In this study, researchers
used a qualitative descriptive method to describe student errors and analyzed the
data using a formula that had been done by Sudjana in Subroto (2015). The results
showed that students made errors on: proper noun (31.33%), descriptive word
(19.74%), past tense (45.70%), and word of order (3.21%). The error most
students made were the use of the past tense.
