Abstract :
The objective of this study was to know the effect of Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) on vocabulary students at the seventh grade. This research was conducted at SMPN 4 Bintan. This study applies a quantitative method with One-Group pre-test and post-test Designs. This study took one class that was taught using Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM). The population in this study amounted to 78 students from three classes, namely class VII A, class VII B, and class VII C. The sample in this study was carried out with the procedure of giving a pre-test, implementing treatment, and giving a post-test. Then, the research data was obtained by giving test to students in the experimental group. After the data analysis was obtained from the results of the student test scores and processed using SPSS 25. The results showed that the average pre-test value of the experimental class in part A was 61,92 and increased in the post-test 79,62, while the average pre-test value of the experimental class in part B was 62,31 and increased in the post-test to 78,85. The results of the analysis showed that Sig.2 tailed 0,000 < 0,05. Therefore, Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant difference between students who are taught before using Picture Word Inductive Model and after using Picture Word Inductive Model. So that Picture Word Inductive Model is effective for increasing the vocabulary of class VII students of SMPN 4 Bintan for the academic year 2021/2022.
