Abstract :
Sri Astari, 2022. Writing Proficiency in Explanatory Text for Class XI Students of Tanjungpinang State Aliyah Madrasah for Academic Year 2022/2023, Thesis. Tanjungpinang: Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Raja Ali Haji Maritime University. Advisor I: Assoc. Prof. dr. Hj. Isnaini Leo Shanty, M.Pd. Advisor II: Assist. Prof. Legi Elfitra, M.Pd. This study aims to describe students' proficiency in writing explanatory texts. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The population in this study were all 164 class XI students of Tanjungpinang State Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2022/2023 academic year with a total sample of 62 students from 7 classes. The data collection technique in this study was a written test technique, which is a test that asks class XI students of the Tanjungpinang State Madrasah Aliyah for the 2022/2023 academic year to write explanatory texts. The results of this study indicate that the value of the proficiency in writing explanatory texts for class XI students of Tanjungpinang State Madrasah Aliyah in the Academic Year 2022/2023 on the content indicator is 64.09 with the predicate "Enough", on the structure indicator is 45 with the predicate "Not once", on the conjunction indicator is 52.72 with the predicate "Less once", on the indicator of the use of nouns that refer to the type of phenomenon is 94.54 with the predicate "Very Good", on the indicator of the use of technical terms or terminology is 44.54 with the predicate "Less once" . Based on the results of the study the proficiency in writing explanatory texts for class XI students of Tanjungpinang State Madrasah Aliyah for the 2022/2023 academic year is at the title of "Enough" with an average value of 67.15.
