Abstract :
This study discussed teachers? strategies in teaching listening skill at the ninth grade of MTsN Tanjungpinang. The subjects of this study were teacher and students of class IX(3) consisted of 28 students. 18 female students and 10 male students. This research is a qualitative research method used interview technique and students questionnaire to collect data. The results of the study showed that the English teacher at this school has used teaching strategies in teaching listening. The strategy used by the teacher is to used the strategy of audio visual and listening songs. In the process of teaching English teacher used media in the form of speakers, laptop, and proyector.
