Abstract :
This study aims were to know the biophysical potential of seagrass ecosystems in the water of the waters Basing Coastal Limas Village Senayang District Lingga Regency for ecotourism seagrass and the perception of Limas Village community about seagrass ecosystem and marine ecotourism. Method of data retrieval in this research was direct observation method in the field for biophysical parameters and interview method for public perception amounted to 35 respondents. Biophysical parameters of Basing Coast waters have a high percentage of seagrass cover that was 79,17% dominated by Thalassodendron ciliatum species. Type of biota encountered were diverse, namely 18 species fish and 8 species invertebrates. The high waters brightness and relatively quiet water velocity in the waters of Basing Coast were excellent for tourism activities. In addition, substrate type of Basing was also very good for tourism activities was the type of sand. The depth of waters of Basing Coast was relatively shallow with a maximum depth of 1,78 m and a minimum depth of 0,27 m so that in the seagrass ecosystem in Basing Coast waters can be developed two seagrass-based tourist attractions that were snorkeling attractions at the maximum depth of waters and attraction ?berkarang? tourism at minimal depth. The calculation result of the suitability tourism categories of snorkeling and ?berkarang? tourism were 96,30% and 89,06% respectively with S1 category ?very suitable?. The condition was also supported by the perception of the people of Limas Village related to the seagrass ecosystem and the management of ecotourism was very good.
