Abstract :
This research aims to determine the effect of PQ4R strategy towards students reading achievement of procedure text in class X at SMAN 3 Batam. This research used quasi experimental design. The participants of this study were students of grade X of SMAN 3 Batam. They are class X.G, and class X.J, where X.G as the experimental class and X.J as the control class. To determine the effect of the treatment, a post-test was conducted. The test was a reading test. The test data was analyzed using T-test analysis. The t-test result at t0 is smaller than ttable (-0.99 < 1.69). Based on the T-test calculation, there was no significant effect on students' reading achievement after the treatment using PQ4R strategy in the experimental class. It can be concluded, H0 do not achieve better than students? taught using conventional strategy in reading of procedure text at SMAN 3 Batam.
