Abstract :
This research aims to determine whether or not the use of posters affects students' writing skills in class 8B at SMP Negeri 5 Bintan. To solve research problems, the researcher used quantitative methods. A test instrument was used to collect data. The research design was pre-experimental, with the researcher using one group for pre-test/post-test by treating the class under study. Data analysis showed that using posters significantly affected students' writing skills in class 8B SMP Negeri 5 Bintan. This means the alternative hypothesis (H_1) has been accepted, while the null hypothesis (H_0) has been rejected. This is shown in the data collected using the paired sample t-test formula. Based on the calculated data, the significance level is 0.054. Because 0.054 is higher than 0.05, the data is normally distributed. As a result, the Sig.2 Tailed value is 0.001. This means that there is a significant effect of using posters on students writing skills of SMP Negeri 5 Bintan class 8B students because sig.2 tailed 0.001 0.005. As a result, H_0 is rejected while H_1 is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that posters can significantly influence students' recount text writing skills.
