Abstract :
In recent years the tourism sector has contributed greatly to international trade, which is a part of the income of a developing country. Indonesia has the opportunity to develop this industry. One of them is the Riau Archipelago Province, which has a rich potential for natural beauty and marine life with a strategic geographical location that is able to attract foreign tourists significantly. With this in mind, the Riau Islands has become one of the biggest entry points for foreign tourists nationally after Bali and Jakarta. The purpose of this research is to see how the efforts made by the Riau Islands government in implementing digital public paradiplomacy in increasing foreign tourist visits 2019-2022. This study uses qualitative research methods with data obtained through library research and interviews. The results of this study show that the development of tourism in the Riau Islands is very promising due to its geographical location which borders neighboring countries. To be able to improve this tourism sector. However, it is still constrained by the economic conditions of the Riau Islands which are still very far behind and governance which is still not optimal. This has an impact on the obstruction of the government management system of the Riau Archipelago Tourism Office. One of them is the lack of optimal use of digitalization by the Riau Archipelago Provincial Tourism Office.
