Abstract :
The purposes of this research were to analyze content validity of English final test
items with compared into the achievement indicators in the lattice of basic competence of
curriculum. Content validity is deal with the content of test item which tested whether
reflected the material of curriculum. The researcher used descriptive qualitative method.
Subject of this research was the English teacher at seventh grade of SMP Negeri 3
Tanjungpinang and object of this research was the English final test items. The researcher
used the test item paper, the key and the lattice as the instrument. The researcher analyzed
which suitable and unsutable test items to the achievement indicator in the lattice. Then,
after got the result, the researcher described the content validity form by using Arikunto?s
theory. The result of this research showed that the English final test at seventh grade of
SMP Negeri 3 Tanjungpinang in academic year of 2018/2019 was 90%. Based on the level
of category by Arikunto, the percentage of 81%-100% means that the category is very good.
Therefore, it can be concluded that the English Final Test at seventh grade of SMP Negeri
3 Tanjungpinang in academic year of 2018/2019 has a very good content validity.
