Abstract :
The purpose of this reseaarch is to find out the students skills in reading analytycal exposition and what factors that influence the students skill in reading and understanding analytical exposition text. This research belongs to decriptive qualitative research. There are no population and samples. Therefore, this study has participants as research subjects. The participants were eleventh students of MAN Tanjungpinang selected using purposive sampling technique. Participants were asked to read and answer the question about analytical exposition text and answer the quetionniare provided by the researcher. To analyze the data, the data were described and then displayed according to each answer. This research shows that students skill in reading analytical exposition text is in good category. It can be concluded that based on the total score, the eleventh students got 40% in excellent category, 60% in good category and no students in average and poor category
