Abstract :
The objective of this study was to analyze the ppropriateness of MenyimakBerbicara material in English Textbook used at SMP Negeri 7 Tanjungpinang based on Kurikulum Merdeka Phase D grade seventh. Data analysis in this study was carried out by deciding the textbook, categorizing the element, analyzing the element, drawing conclusions and verifying the data. The data were analyzing using the categories of high, low, and null. The findings of this study state the related of the textbook ?English Grade 7? and Kurikulum Merdeka Phase D for first semester not all of them are appropriate. For Listening from Lesson I to Lesson IV, the actual factor of Listening is not found, because even though it is written in the book the words ?Listening? and ?Listen?, there is text that can be read. In this case, students certainly prefer to read the text that has been provided and not listen carefully to the text read by the teacher. The speaking element in the textbook can be said to fulfill what is suggested by the Merdeka curriculum. However, there is two lesson that do not have material about speaking, namely in lesson I and lesson II. Based on the results of the analysis that has been carried out, it is known that the material contained in the English textbook for seventh grade junior school ?English Grade 7? was launched by CV Adi Perkasa. Menyimak-Berbicara element not all suggested by the Kurikulum Merdeka.
