Abstract :
Simulation based instruction is one of the learning technique that can be used to learn speaking. This technique has several steps: Group discussion, simulation and debriefing. This study aims to see whether the simulation based instruction technique can improve the speaking achievement of intermediate class of AIEC Tanjungpinang. This study used a classroom action research. The research design were planning, action, observation and reflection. Data was collected from intermediate class, which consisted 22 students. The instrument to collect the data were speaking test and observation checklist. Researchers used criteria of success to determine this research is sucess. At the end, it can be concluded that simulation based instruction technique can improve students' speaking achievement in intermediate class. The result is 77% students from intermediate class complete the speaking test used simulation based instruction.
