Abstract :
This study intends to find out the effect of using think-ahead and write (TAW) strategy on students writing ability in descriptive text at seventh grade students of SMPN 11 Batam. This study was conducted in class 7 at SMPN 11 Batam during the academic year 2023?2024 from class 7.3, which had a total of 40 students. The design of this kind of study is quasi-experimental. The findings of purposefully withheld pre- and post-treatment assessments served as the data gathering tool. The t- test is used in this study to evaluate the research data. The writing skills t-test value is -5.6794469 > 2.0226909 based on statistical analysis with a significant limit. The findings of the pre-test and the post-test differ significantly in writing using TAW Strategy.
